Decisions, decisions

Decisions, decisions

I see quite  a few of you trying to decide on the color for the entrelac workshop…I feel your pain. Really, I do.

purityAfter a weekend of pondering how I could bribe you all to knit flowers for my wedding reception, my step mother pointed out that being a spring reception at the Phipps, it might be appropriate to actually have real flowers. I suppose that a winter reception would be a better place for wool knitted flowers. Really, I think I just wanted to knit something for the reception. So after a bit of thought (including knitting favors?!), I decided upon this wrap thingy. My dress is strapless and it is likely that I will be a bit cold or just want something to cover myself up at some point. I first thought about a jacket thing with a higher neck but I could only find a lot of bolero patterns and designing something for my own wedding seemed insane. (yet knitting flower centerpieces didn’t…) This is the pattern “Purity” and it is in the Rowan Magazine #43. If you happen to own this magazine, do let me know. I am afraid that I am going to have to order it online…and that just means that I have to wait for it! I hate waiting to start a new project…

I am going to use Alchemy Silken Straw for the wrap in a champagne-ish color. I don’t know the exact colorway but its at the shop, so I plan to go grab it tomorrow. I need three hanks. The stuff is around $25 a hank…yikes!

Next week I meet with the owner of Potomac Bead company to create my necklace to match the dress. We might also do earrings.

So far, I think these are the only decisions I haven’t reported on. When I nail down a source for eco friendly flowers, I will let you know. I am still collecting milk bottles !
