Washington Post article highlights the green movement in knitting yarns

Laura just sent me this Washington Post article titled, Eco-Yarns from the Kitchen. It features the yarn company Kollage yarns, who is behind the amazing bamboo merino blend “Yummy” that my Sahara sweater (aka Route One) is made from. (There are still one or two spots available in that class, which starts Monday night) Here’s my progress on that sweater, by the way…

Anyways, the article talks a bit about the new trend in natural, eco friendly fibers and how knitters have come a long way since the days of petroleum based fibers that our mother’s and grandmothers knitted with in the 60s and 70s. (look honey, i crocheted a blanket and it squeaks when you rub it!)
