Project of the Week: Waiting for Rain

Project of the Week: Waiting for Rain

Summer is here and nothing satisfies my summer knitting needs more than a brightly colored shawl project. We have this amazing project in the shop right now for you to check out. Waiting for Rain is another fun design by Softsweater Knits. It’s available on Ravelry.

We have a nicely restocked wall of Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio Sock for this project. All of her colors are bright and saturated – the perfect color spectrum for a summer shawl.

Sizing:

80” (2m) along the wingspan of the shawl, 20” (50cm) deep at the deepest point

Materials:

  • US #6 (4 mm) circular needles – 32″ or longer is probably better, given the size of the shawl
  • 2 skeins of Neighborhood Fiber Co Studio Sock (400 yards / 4 oz, 100% superwash Merino)

Gauge: 24 stitches and 24 rows = 4” (10cm) square knit flat in garter stitch and blocked.

Color pairings:
