In space just in time for Independence Day – three new independently published crochet books!
We’re focusing on carrying independently-published books and local authors as much as possible, so we’re pleased to have these great new books for crocheters from the fine folks at The Crochet Project.
The Shawl Project: Book One features six one-skein projects and “infinite possibilities.” Each project takes a different look at shawl shaping and construction; all can be completed in one 100g skein of fingering weight yarn. The patterns range from beginner to intermediate difficulty, with most rated as easy.
New to crochet? Start out with Northmoor Lock, designed to make the most of that special skein of variegated yarn.

The Shawl Project: Book Two dives back into exploring shawls in a bigger way – all of these projects take, you guessed it, two 100g skeins of fingering weight yarn! The five patterns are rated from easy to advanced, with most rated as intermediate.
Play with color pairings for a cozy Missed Kingfisher, inspired by the teal feathers of diving birds.

Crochet Yeah! is a collection of six accessories created in association with Coop Knits, again all worked up in fingering weight yarn. Most of the patterns are beginner or easy difficulty, with one rated as intermediate.
Try your hand at the pretty Evesham Socks pictured on the cover, or pick your favorite colors to pair up in the Bromsgrove Hat and Worcester Scarf.

Do note that all of these books are written using UK crochet terminology, which is a bit different than US terminology. Check out Five Simple Rules to Help You Read a Crochet Pattern and you’ll be good to go!
