Greetings from space! It’s been an exciting week. Here’s what’s been going on at the shop.
New Arrivals
We’ve had two major new arrivals and a handful of awesome restocks. First up, Fiberstory ONE Bulky landed. Just in time for quick and warm knits, this delightful single-ply bulky yarn clocks in with 82 yards per skein and costs $26. Check out our write up and project ideas here.
We also got in some of the biggest yarn we’ve ever seen in person – Big Stitch Merino! Milled in Ohio, each skein holds 125 yards and costs $150. We’ve got an assortment of patterns available at the shop along with a trunk show of cool and cozy projects. Learn more here.
We’ve also received major restocks from Neighborhood Fiber Co. The full palette of Studio Worsted (400 yds for $40) came in on Friday, and we just unloaded a massive shipment of Loft and Penthouse Silk Fingering. The Silk Fingering doesn’t tend to stick around long, so come and get it! Each skein is 500 yds of 100% fingering weight silk ($48), perfect for those with wool allergies. Loft is a 330 yd mix of mohair and silk, available in a huge range of colors for $20 a skein.
We also received a top up on The Fiberists Audubon Worsted and Audubon Sport, perfect for anyone thinking of making a Jimi Shawlette. We’re always on the prowl for great notions for you. We’ve got two new types of tape measures in stock: sheep (including one black sheep per flock) and our signature fibre space tape measures.
Events
Join us this Friday for our Pom Pom Party! Kick off the holidays with a night of learning to make pom poms. Help us create our holiday window and watch Love Actually with us. In return we will reward you with hot cocoa from Artfully Chocolate, homemade marshmallows from the Sugar Cube and more! Bring your pom pom maker, borrow one of ours or purchase one at the shop for future pom pom making fun. No reservation required.
We are delighted to be hosting Stephen West of Westknits and Stephen Berg of StephenBe on January 29-31. The full slate of workshops and events have just been announced! There will be workshops on top down shawls, new perspectives on knitting, modular magic, and two trunk shows. Click here to learn more. Registration opens Friday, November 21.
We are building out our calendar for classes and events in the new year. You can always get the full rundown on our calendar and our blog.

What’s Hot
We wrapped up the Fall Knitalong with Miss Babs – just in time for Santa’s visit to space, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Small Business Saturday. Congratulations to Shandelin Evans, our Westbourne winner! With so many great sweaters, there were no losers. Thank you to everyone who participated! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
