Hello! How’s your sweater coming along? We love to see and hear about your experiences with the fall knitalong. Please make sure to tag your projects ‘WestbourneKAL’ on Ravelry.
This week has found us in some different spots. Danielle and Kim are in the raglan section, while Trudy and I have divided our sleeves and are striping away. I’ve gone with a variation on the day stripe. I’m doing eight rows of my main color and two for the stripe. I liked the look of the thinner stripe but wanted a little more height between each one. I’ve also decided to do 12 stripes, which should about a half inch to the body’s length. I’m tall. Yes, cropped tops are back in style, but seeing as I’ll never be 15 again, I’m good with the added length.
A funny thing also happened this week. My Katahdin started to feel less huge. It’s still almost a mile of yarn (1750 yds means 5250 ft, ten yards shy of a full mile.. the things I think about while winding yarn). The further I get into my sweater, the more it looks like just a big bunch of yarn rather than the mountain it once was. Anyone else seeing that?

We hope you’re enjoying this project as much as we are. Keep sharing your experiences, and remember, complete the sweater by November 13 and be entered to win free yarn! And if you’re fortunate enough to be heading to Rhinebeck this weekend, you might just run into Danielle and Arthella while you’re there. Travel safe and have an apple cider donut for us!
