We are excited to welcome String Theory Colorworks back to space this week! This artfully hand dyed self-striping yarn is a customer favorite with its sturdy ply, wide stripes and soft, yummy feel.
We have two new-to-us bases to offer: fingering weight Continuum and sport weight Momentum. Here’s the lowdown:
Continuum Self-Striping $27.50
-Fingering weight; 80% merino/10% cashmere/10% nylon; 430 yards (393 m); 100 grams (3.53 oz); 6-8 sts per inch using US #0-3 (2-3.25 mm); machine-washable.
Momentum Self-Striping $24.50
-Sport weight; 100% merino; 274 yards (251 m); 100 grams (3.53 oz); 4-6 sts per inch using US #3-4 (3.25-3.5 mm); machine washable.
However, don’t feel glued to footwear — self-striping yarn is perfect for spicing up your shawls, mitts and hats, too! (Not to mention baby sweaters! Danielle has already grabbed a skein of Momentum to whip one up… Debbie Bliss’ Cashmerino books are full of lovely sport weight options, and I really like Susan Anderson’s Cozy Boatneck Sweater, available in her Itty Bitty Nursery book.)
