Get the hang of small circumference stranded colorwork with these fingerless mitts! Latvian braid detailing, fair isle, striped garter, and afterthought thumbs make these small but mighty and packed with technique! This class is taught by the designer.

2 two-hour classes

Skills required: Ability to knit and purl in the round, no previous colorwork experience necessary.

Skills learned: 

  • Stranded colorwork (English, continental, and combination methods taught)

  • Latvian braids

  • Chart reading

  • Garter stripes in the round

  • Afterthought thumbs

  • Knitting with 2 circular needles

  • Blocking and finishing techniques

Materials: 

  • Approximately 145 yds of main color and 100 yds of contrasting color in fingering/sock weight yarn

  • Two US#2 (2.75mm) 16” circular knitting needles

  • Tapestry needle

  • Stitch Markers

  • Small amount of sock weight waste yarn
