Winterlong Cowl workshop with Bristol Ivy: SA Apr 1, 3-6 pm

April 1, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Event Category:

The Winterlong Cowl is a warm, cozy bit of squishiness that employs some interesting techniques to create a flowing, organic shape. In this class, we’ll explore the techniques necessary to create it, and discuss the rhythms and patterns inherent to the design that make it so addictive to knit.

Skills needed:

Students should be able to knit, purl and read charts or written pattern instructions.

Preparation:

Please bring 450 yards of heavy worsted weight or aran weight yarn and US 7 [4.5 mm] and US 8 [5 mm] needles, as well as smooth, non-wool waste yarn and crochet hook for provisional cast on.

About Bristol

Bristol Ivy is a knitting designer, teacher, and author from Bangor, Maine. Her work has been published with PomPom Magazine, amirisu, Quince & Co., Making Magazine, and her own eponymous pattern line. She has taught at such events as Squam Art Workshops, Edinburgh Yarn Festival, and Vogue Knitting Live, as well as yarn shops worldwide. Her recent books, Knitting Outside the Box and Knitting Outside the Box: Drape and Fold, both with PomPom Press, explore her lifelong commitment to breaking rules and finding beauty in unexpected places. When not knitting, she’s sewing, running, watching far too many British murder mysteries, and baking a mean loaf of oatmeal honey bread.
