Old Town Alexandria Makers Mile

An event every day that begins at 11:00 am, repeating until January 20, 2020

Come out to Old Town Alexandria January 18th through 20th and pick up a new skill for the new year. Experience everything from paper and paint to fabric, yarn and more. Register now, and we will reserve this amazing limited edition tote for you, designed by Katie Gastley of Idlewild Co. With it, you can stop at each store to collect flair, visit a “make and take” station, and shop! Each store will have a limited edition enamel pin, made especially for this tote – it’s free with a purchase of $25 or more or can be purchased for $10*.

How to participate:

Start at Stitch Sew Shop (1219 King Street) to check in and pick up your tote bag, which will serve as your ticket at each location. Everyone wtih a tote bag will have the opportunity to create at the make and take stations. If there are several people in your group, please make sure that each person has registered! Sorry, we are unable to sell the craft “kit” at each shop separately from the event.

When to participate:

The event starts at 11 am on Saturday and runs through 4 pm on Monday. You may pick up your tote and start exploring our shops anytime from 11 am onward. The “make and take” stations are open from 11 am to 4 pm each day.

fibre space (1319 Prince Street): Explore different types of wool as you stitch an adorable sheep tag.

Augie’s Mussel House and Beer Garden (1106 King Street): Enjoy free dessert with the purchase of any entree.

Penny Post (1201 King Street)

Red Barn Mercantile (1117 King Street)

Stitch Sew Shop (1219 King Street): Learn to thread a needle, how to whipstitch, and tie off your thread while making a darling little fabric tray.

The fine print:

Participants should be 10 years or older. Anyone younger must be accompanied by an adult and may not be able to participate in the crafts. Each reservation includes a custom tote bag and a make and take craft. To partake of the craft you MUST have a reservation and show your tote before starting the event. Make and take stations are from 11 am to 4 pm each day.
