SUMMARY:Cabling Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Do you know the basics of cabling but are nervous about taking on a more complex project? Choose from several intermediate or advanced-level patterns to take the next step with your cabling skills. This class will discuss how to set yourself up for success in a cabled pattern\, read a cabled chart\, fix mistakes or mis-crossed cables\, cabling without a needle\, and measure gauge across a cabled swatch. If you’ve tried basic cabling before and are ready to level up your skills\, choose between the Victoria Scarf and the Beeswax Cowl patterns as a great next step. Or try the intermediate level Kanelbulle Hat for more challenging cabling patterns in an approachable accessory. For students with a bit more experience and interest in tackling a cabled garment\, the Vivienne Pullover and the Carly Cardigan are both great choices.  \n2 two-hour sessions  \nPick your project based on your skill level: \nBeginner: Bulky Hat\n© Filipa Carneiro\nSkills needed: \n\nKnitting and purling in the round\n\nMaterials:\n\nYarn:\n\nMain color: 1 ball of Rosários 4 Bulky Light (100g/60m)\, shown in color 110\nContrast color: 1 ball of Rosários 4 Bulky Light yarn (100g/60m)\, shown in color 107 \n\n\nUS#10.5 (6.5 mm) 16″ circular needle\nUS#11 (8 mm) 16″ circular needles  and double-pointed needles\nStitch markers\nCable needle\nTapestry needle\nPattern: Bulky Hat \n\nPreparation:\nBefore class\, please finish ribbing and be ready to start the cable chart.  \nAdvanced Beginner: A Twisted Affair Hat \n© Joji Locatelli\nSkills needed:\n\nKnitting and purling in the round\nPrior cabling experience recommended\n\nMaterials: \n\nYarn: 2 skeins of Luft by Woolfok Yarns (55% Merino / 45% Cotton\, 109 yards/ 100 meters per 50 gram skein) or approx. 163 (190) yards [150 (173) m] of other Aran-weight yarn \nUS#8 (5 mm) needles\nStitch markers\nTapestry needle\nBlocking aids\nPattern: A Twisted Affair\n\nPreparation:\nBefore class\, please finish ribbing and be ready to start the cable chart. \nIntermediate: Compass Cowl\n© Kelbourne Woolens and Linette Kielinski\nSkills needed:\n\nKnitting in the round\nBasic cabling\nReading from cable chart\n\nMaterials:\n\nYarn: 1 (2) skeins of Kelbourne Woolens Scout (100% wool; 274 yards/100 gm skein).
