With today’s delivery of Freia Ombre Sport, I thought it would be a great time to feature the most recent design from Olga Buraya-Kefelian – Hei.
This fun cowl features a unique stitch pattern that works wonderfully with the ombre colorways from hand dyer Tina Whitmore.
From Olga:
The grid of this textured snood reminds me of a fence latticework and is achieved by working staggered motifs of ribbing and eyelets. Both providing positive and negative space for a densely knit fabric that transforms into 3 dimensional surface design with plenty of stretch and styling possibilities. Shown in ombré yarns to add playfulness through color to this accessory.
Materials:
- Freia Fine Handpaints Ombré Sport (100% wool), 217yds/200m per 2.64oz/75g; 2 skeins (420 yards)
- US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needle, 24” long
- Crochet hook size F/3.75mm
- Stitch marker
- Tapestry needle
Color ideas:
We have 28 colorways in stock but here are my top four favorites for this project (besides the Lichen colorway that the design is in!!):
Style It!
This piece is really a wonderful staple for fall. I plan on pairing it with some staple pieces that will work for early spring and fall. For shoes, I recently acquired the Rag & Bone shoes below from the Shoe Hive – a great pair that work for two or three seasons! This top is also from the Shoe Hive – the Jeffrey Pullover from One Grey Day. These AG boyfriend jeans are from Periwinkle (this is one of my FAVORITE denim brands), which just reopened a new location on S. Columbus Street and the relaxed style will be both comfy and on trend.
