The last few days I have knocked out a few projects….admittadly some were not “necessary” while others very much were and remain in a pile on my sofa….like my father’s Christmas present.
But lets not focus on what didn’t get done. Here’s what did:
Destroyed Cowl in Neighborhood Fiber Company Studio Worsted
Garter for my best friend Katie (whose birthday was at least a week ago). She is getting married in March. So I should be honest here…I didn’t knit this entire thing. I may have had some help from a sympathetic friend who I must buy truffles for… I used “scraps” of Malabrigo Lace, so it’s a great project for those leftovers of lace or fingering weight yarn. The pattern is free from Knitty.
Slippers! Ok, so I had a little breakdown on Sunday and decided that I couldn’t work on Dad’s argyle because it was making me want to poke small dull needles into my eyeballs. So I grabbed two hanks of Shepherd’s wool and made the French Press Slippers. It took about two hours of knitting and 20 minutes of felting…and maybe another 20 of sewing. I used puffy paint to make the bottoms “sticky” so I wouldn’t fall down the stairs. Which makes me think that maybe puffy paint can help my dogs to stop falling down the stairs too. hmm… I have to say that the Shepherd’s wool felted really really well. There was little to no “fuzz” in my washing machine.
