The baby blanket is now with its new mommy. It turned out just fab and Olga did a great job with the backing. It was so hard to give away, but I did it. It was presented at the Care Bear themed baby shower over the weekend. The cake actually bleeds raspberry when cut into, which made me so happy. (its the little things in life) If I had to provide a Care Bear cake, the least it could do is bleed to death as I cut into it. You really just have no idea how happy this made me this weekend. (the “balloons” are mini cupcakes from Buzz Bakery.)
1. It is very very cold in Pittsburgh. Miserable actually. And snowing.
2. The gun store on Route 19 in Washington, PA is having a “Glock Festival” just in case you need a firearm. (yes, you read that right. Go ahead, read it again. GLOCK FESTIVAL) I almost wrecked the car when I saw the giant sign but couldn’t snap a photo. I had hoped to go back…just for your all benefit, but didn’t make it.
3. Care Bears are small happy little bears with hearts on their feet and noses. I very much dislike them. I wish to never see one again. I imagine that children raised in rooms decorated with Care Bears might eventually feel a desire to attend a Glock Festival. One should be aware of this side affect when purchasing Care Bears for small children.
In other news, I am working furiously on our Mystery Baby Blanket Knitalong. The supply list will be posted ASAP! Start thinking about a DK weight fiber that you might want to use. You will need a few colors so be sure that it comes in a few coordinating colors.
